Writing for children is reward to the heart.

My writing journey has a ton of ups and downs – not too different from training for a marathon. You think you are ready, and then you are not.

Writing for children is the most challenging. There is a tremendous responsibility to capture a child’s attention and give them the rich experience they deserve.

I started writing stories when one of my children was diagnosed with dyslexia – well, actually before. A local seamstress made tiny mice that she sold to the General Store. Children in my town and beyond collected them. I told stories about the mice. My child said, “Write them down and I will learn how to read them.” And so, we started on our quests together.
